HMD global is going to continue with its trend of January launch in China as a smartphone with model name TA-1054, has cleared TENAA certification. This smartphone is touted to be Nokia 6 (2018) and has already cleared the certification, which is mandatory for handsets to be released in China.
Even though the TENAA listing doesn't reveal anything about the upcoming handset, according to a report by NokiaPowerUser, this will be the Nokia 6 (2018). Incidentally, Nokia 6 was also launched in January this year in China. The report also suggests that the device will have a design similar to Nokia 7 and will come with thinner bezels and therefore will have on-screen buttons rather than hardware touch buttons. The fingerprint sensor will also be at the back.
As per the report, in terms of features, the upcoming Nokia 6 (2018) is expected sport a 5.5-inch screen with 18:9 resolution display and "dual-lens camera or may be just the Dual-Sight aka Bothie feature." It is said to be powered by Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
The Nokia 6, which would become the predecessor of the upcoming smartphone was launched in India at Rs 14,999 in June earlier this year. The handset has a 5.5-inch full HD IPS LCD display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution and 2.5D curved glass coating as well as Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection. It has a 16MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. On the front, it houses an 8MP camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 4GB RAM. For storage, it has 64GB internal storage and up to 128GB microSD card support. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery and has dual speakers powered by Dolby Atmos tech. In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim smartphone offers Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, USB OTG and Wi-Fi.
